Performing for our seniors in residential care and those living with dementia.
Rae has been singing in Care Homes and Day Centres between contracts since 2016, and also worked in a care home as an Activities Assistant during the Covid19 lockdown. Alongside volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Dementia Support charity (ADS) in Maidenhead, Rae has had a long term interest in how music can positively affect people living with dementia.

Rae is currently available to perform in Care Homes and Day Centres, more information about the kinds of performances she does can be found below:

For residents in Residential Care, a cabaret-style performance of songs they remember goes down a treat! From favourites such as Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and more! These sessions are 1 hour long.
For residents living in memory care, Music Therapy is recommended. The music is played live on a ukulele, so there is no rush to keep up, and lyric sheets and small instruments are provided to get everyone involved! These sessions are 45 minutes long.
Each session costs £75.00, however if you have residents or guests that fit both categories, booking both sessions on the same day is discounted to £125.00*
*15 minutes between sessions will be needed to move/set up in a new area.

In 2019, Rae wrote and performed her dissertation performance at the University of Chichester with this subject in mind. The play, entitled “Some Sunny Day” demonstrated the effect music can have for people living with dementia. The performance earned her high praise and contributed to a First Class Degree.
“You really must be commended for such a powerful yet subtle performance with some truly beautiful acting. Hilarious in its execution, which quickly became heartbreaking in a matter of seconds…” |
