Singing & Acting Tuition

Singing Tuition

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to sing, now is as good a time as any! Not only is it a fun skill and hobby to have, but singing is also great for your mental and physical health. Rae has been singing all of her life and believes that anyone can sing! Specialising in singing technique, repertoire, and vocal health, Rae has tutored people aged 4 to 50 in the classroom, their own homes, or via Zoom.

Here’s what you can expect from your sessions:

Each session will begin with a warm up of your voice. Understanding your voice is important, so warm ups will be selected to suit you and will be explained so that you understand why you are doing it and how it supports your voice. Digital versions will be sent to you to use in your own time.

Your first session will consist of exercises and understanding your voice and what you want to improve. If you want to extend your range, grow your confidence, or even just prepare for karaoke night, a plan will be put in place to reach your goals.

From then on, weekly sessions are advised to help you to build your skills and repertoire at a consistent pace. How many lessons you have varies from person to person, if preparing for a one off audition then one or two will be enough, but for a consistent growth in skill regular lessons would be most beneficial.

Rae offers singing tuition during term time through Music Works at the Haslemere and Guildford centres offering a free 20 minute taster session. Prices can be found on the Music Works website by clicking here.

Acting Tuition

Rae is an experienced actor and performer, and many say that acting comes hand in hand with singing, so both can be great skills to have. In particular, Rae is offering sessions to help prepare for auditions, which can be perfect for someone about to audition for college, university, or drama school.

Sessions include acting techniques, choosing monologues and scripts, help remembering lines, how to control audition nerves, and more. For both singing and acting lessons, your first half-an-hour taster session will be just £10, to see if Rae is the right tutor for you, and then each hour session after is £30.
